About the Board

4walls is managed by a volunteer skills based Board made up of up to 10 members coming from a range of different professional backgrounds specifically targeted to guide the direction of the Company.

The committee is responsible for ensuring that 4walls meets all its legal and fiduciary obligations

Kerryn NewtonKerryn Newton LLM, MBA, MA, Grad Dip (Applied Finance and Investment), GAICD

Chair

Kerryn has Masters qualifications in Law, Business Administration and Arts, and holds a Graduate Diploma in Applied Finance and Investment as well as being a graduate of the Company Directors’ Course of the Australian Institute of Company Directors. Kerryn was admitted as a solicitor of the Supreme Court of Queensland in 1991 and has worked in various legal and management roles in the private and public sectors. Her roles have included extensive experience as a lawyer and advisor for the Queensland Parliament and its parliamentary committees.

Currently, Kerryn is an independent consultant and advises organisations on a wide range of management and corporate governance issues.

Kerryn is a Director of ENERGEX and Commissioner of the Queensland Gaming Commission, as well as Chair of the board of 4Walls. She has also held numerous other positions on non-profit and community sector management committees, and is a director of a number of private company boards.

Andrew FoleyAndrew Foley Diploma in Financial Markets, B. AppSc (Maths) AFin MAICD

Director

Andrew Foley is the General Manager Corporate Services at LinkWater where, as a member of the Executive Management Team, he is responsible for communications and stakeholder engagement, human resources, corporate strategy, risk management, workplace health and safety, environmental management and economic regulation.

Andrew has spent over ten years involved in the micro-economic reform of utilities. He also has experience in investment and pricing analysis, establishment of government owned businesses, benchmarking and business improvement.

Christine GroseChristine Grose BA Bus. Communications

Director

Christine has 23 years experience working within the community sector, primarily in the areas of housing and homelessness. She is motivated in her paid and unpaid work to contribute to social justice locally and globally.

Her work background in recent years has focussed on senior operational management, project planning and implementation, social policy development and systems advocacy.

She currently works as a Project Coordinator for a large international humanitarian organisation.

Garry ButtonGarry Button B Com (UNSW) FCPA FFTP MAICD

Director

Garry Button is Chief Financial Officer of Stanwell Corporation Limited, a member of the Executive Team responsible for the strategic direction and operational performance of Finance, Business Improvement , Financial Risk Management Services and Procurement.

Prior to joining Stanwell Garry held several senior financial and corporate roles within Queensland Rail and previously at Fairfax, Unilever Australia and other companies.

He is a Fellow of both CPA Australia and The Finance and Treasury Association (where he is also a past national President and NSW Chapter Chairman), and a Member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.

Garry is also a non-executive director of Blue Energy Limited (ASX BUL).

Karen DareKaren Dare

Director

Karen has a Social Sciences background and 24 years experience working within the community sector. She has a background in organisational management, project management, service development and delivery, advocacy, and local area planning.

Karen currently manages a large multi-service organisation that provides a broad range of service to the inner city communities of Brisbane. She has a strong interest in supporting and developing responsive services within the housing, mental health, family support, emergency relief and refugee support areas.

Karen is recipient of the 2001 Centenary Medal and Brisbane Australia Day Award for her contribution to the Community Sector.

Ken GoughKenneth J. Gough Accountant AAUQ: Diploma in Financial Services

Director

Ken is a Director on the Boards of Waratah Co-operative Group of Housing Societies, Brisbane Housing Company Ltd, and Australian Housing Societies Ltd. Ken was the former Treasurer of MATCH Inc for 9 years prior to transferring to the 4walls Ltd Board in 2009.

Tracy OsterfieldTracy Osterfield B.Bus, CPA, MAICD

Director

Tracy operates a consultancy specialising in financial systems and providing direct advice to business principals and decision makers. Prior to this she has extensive experience working for large corporations.

Tracy has moved her focus to smaller businesses, especially non profit to provide financial assistance.

Tracy joined the BBL board in July 2007 and transferred to the 4walls Ltd Board in 2009.
